Presuming on his Senses! Blackest Night #1

Belated recognition for comic of the week as DC's Summer Event kicks off with Blackest Night #1. Preludes have been running in Green Lantern for a few months now, but don't be fooled - this is Final Crisis 2009 style (okay, okay so Final Crisis spilled over into this year but you get the point) and you can pick up the first part without being steeped in Lantern lore.

Basically there's a new colored ring on the block - black is in this Summer and you know how some superheroes and villains do actually die? Well the Black Lantern is resurrecting them and amassing his own army. It's Marvel Zombies but played straight and with higher stakes. It's dark, bloody and has some great moments.
