Swoon Now! The Celestial Bibendum

What a week for graphic novels (see previous posts)!  And I've saved the best for last.  Excuse the indulgence but Nicolas de Crecy is one of my favourites and apart from two volumes of Salvatore and Glacial Period (both NBM) his other works hadn't been translated from French.  Until now.  The Celestial Bibendum (Knockabout) is quite possibly his masterpiece thus far.  A de Crecy world is quite something to experience filled with deliciously surreal characters and images and yet everything is grounded with beautiful buildings, cars and of course the animals...there are always animals.  Reproduced in it's original format it's a giant of a book, both literally and figuratively.  Stunning.

Note: A page from a non-translated edition.
