What an impressive week for graphic novels - for comic history buffs we have classic 1950s horror tales by Jack Cole and a fabulous collected edition of sunday strips featuring the first female created superheroine Miss Fury, a gritty new drama by fan (and certainly my own) favourite writer Mike Carey, plenty of superpowered releases from Marvel and DC, some lavish game guides, and a gorgeous do-it-yourself activity bookwhere you can learn how to create your very own superhero universe!

Let's begin with the biggest release of the week...

BATMAN COURT OF OWLS BOOK & MASK SET 

The best-selling epic that introduced Gotham City's dread Court of Owls is back in this amazing book and mask set! Along with a trade paperback copy of THE COURT OF OWLS, collecting BATMAN #1-7, this set includes the PVC Owl mask with white elastic band that created a sensation at comics conventions in 2012!

MISADVENTURES OF SALEM HYDE

Salem Hyde just isn't like other kids. For one thing, she's stubborn, independent, and impulsive. For another, she's a witch. Salem acts first and thinks later-which means most of her thinking involves coming up with excuses! Good thing she's been assigned an animal companion, Lord Percival J. Whamsford III. MISS FURY HC SENSATIONAL SUNDAYS 1941-1944

Reprinting every Miss Fury Sunday page from the beginning in April 1941 through April 1944 (where our companion volume picks up), we learn the origins of Miss Fury and her skin-tight panther costume-complete with its sharp claws on her hands and feet! By day, she was socialite Marla Drake-by night, the costumed adventuress Miss Fury.
