Weekly Treats! Bulletproof Coffin, Crossed, AvX

Feels like we're taking a trip to the world of video nasties for books this week. First up is Bulletproof Coffin: Disinterred (Image) by David Hine and Shaky Kane. Genuinely unlike anything you've read (unless you red the previous volume) it's like mixed-up memories of Toxic inter-spliced with any x-rated nightmare you might've had. Headless corpses are just the start of the rollercoaster...

Also - stepping up the adult content - there's Crossed Wish You Were Here which is actually a new volume 1 as it collects the ongoing webcomic (see here) by horror writer Simon Spurrier and illustrated by Javier Barreno. Regular readers of the series set in a world infected by a disease that turns people into homicidal maniacs will be understanding if I don't reproduce interior art here (hint: it's rather nasty...)

So let's move swiftly on to more family friendly territories. Avengers vs X-Men #11 of 12 Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel bring us a slice of EVENT COMIC. Can The Avengers summon enough strength to take out the last of the Phoenix power hosts?

There's also Before Watchmen: Comedian #3 (“I am a blood brother”) of 6 by Brian Azzarello and JG Jones and from the co-writer of BPRD John Arcudi and artist Jonathan Case comes a new tale about the grim private eye The Creep #1 (Dark Horse).

And rounding out the week, DC's month of #0's continues filling in the blanks and joining the dots.

As ever, the full list of releases can be found under the tab at the top.
