“Are you kidding? I’m only an actor, not a real crimefighter.” And so to a the character we know least about from Watchmen - so it seems a shame that it's only one issue. Before Watchmen: Dollar Bill #1 (DC) written by Len Wein and art by the excellent Steve Rude.
In Superior Spider-Man #2 (Marvel) in the body of Peter Parker, Otto Octavius continues to do good in his own wicked way. By Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman. And gawd bless Marvel for reprinting - in single issue comic form - the Stan Lee and Moebius story Silver Surfer: Parable. Glorious stuff.
While Justice League vol. 1 Origin arrives in paperback, Justice League vol. 2 The Villain's Journey (DC) is out in hardcover. Both feature the muscular and action-packed work of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. And lastly, Warren Ellis's excellent Global Frequency series is finally collected into one single volume. Illustrated by a host of top artists including Gene Ha, Glen Fabry, David Lloyd and Lee Bermejo, it falls into his 'one story per issue' style recounting adventures of the 1,001 agents on the Global Frequency - think Mission Impossible but more sci-fi based and more violent and strangely enough more grounded. Fun fact: DMZ writer Brian Wood was the cover artist for the series.
