Quick: Thanks to an internet lapse I have exactly 48 seconds to either save the world or write the Weekly Treats blog post and as it's cold and raining outside I'll go for the latter. Marvel just about steal the spotlight this week as they are still rolling out the Marvel NOW! number ones and this week sees the release of Young Avengers #1 by super-cool Phonogram creators Kieron Gillen & Jamie Mckelvie - expect something with slacker teen spirit. Also out this week is Uncanny X-Force #1 by Sam Humphries and Ron Garney maintaining the superhero outcast theme of previous incarnations so don't expect smooth operations. And finally; Marvel's most adaptable friend in a comic you never thought you'd see (but somehow aren't surprised): Deadpool Killustrated #1...
Over at DC Geof Johns continues his mission to develop one the company's more under-appreciated characters moving him centre stage for the Throne of Atlantis story in Justice League #16 - illustrated by Ivan Reis. And even the most casually curious will be tempted by the PENULTIMATE ISSUE of Hellblazer - that's Hellblazer #299 hustled in by Peter Milligan, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Stefano Landini and Simon Bisley.
