NEW COMICS & G/N'S & BOOKS MARCH 11th 2015

 Great week for new releases!
I’ve drunk deep from the well of issue 1’s and I can subjectively report that merriment is guaranteed this very day.

‘the surface’ is a kronky blend of PKDick with the meta-textual musings of GMorrison with a splinter of Moebius, but that’s just the surface texture and oh goodness is the very knowing AKot attempting to twist the candy floss tight around the stick.

'Southern Cross' reads like an unmoored embed from 2000ad circa 1989 even the art has a craggy Ewins quality with a polish of Paul Pope and a mondo poster palette to light the way.

'Howard the Duck' quite smartly avoids the Gerber route and after a bumpy start finds footing amidst the snarky surrealism of Comedy Bang Bang.

'Grimmiss Island' smacks you hard and just keeps beating you with a confectionery coloured broom but leaves just as you’ve grown accustomed to this new state of existence It’s the toothpaste you always pined for laced tight with sugar and sulphate syrup.

Something for everyone and nary a punch thrown so that’s a bonus.

 Fear not pugilistic fans for this week the shelves are bucking under the heavy and light weight escapades of Super lads and lasses punching to save a bevy of universes from inevitable destruction and to tone those triceps.

Fans of Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neil volume 3 of the LOEG side story Nemo should submerge after 2pm this afternoon.
