Swoon Soon! The Murder Mile - UPDATE: SIGNING!

As promised:

On 21st February the shop will be open 6:30-9:00pm as Paul Collicutt will be in the store for the official launch of his new original graphic novel
The Murder Mile, published by SelfMadeHero.

Paul really is a lovely chap who has done a lot work in teaching comic illustration (including his role as mentor of the Alt: Brighton project) so do pop along and maybe pick his brains...

Finally, here's my original post about the book from a couple of weeks ago:

King of Robot City and good friend of the shop Paul Collicutt has a new book due for release next month. The Murder Mile (SelfMadeHero) is Collicutt's first non-Robot City original graphic novel although given that it's set in 1954 and the protagonist is a private investigator there's going to be a sense of style that unifies his work. Here's the blurb:

1954, Arizona – Runner Todd “The Phoenix Flyer” Naylor is found dead in mysterious circumstances. P.I. Daniel Stone hopes for an “open and shut” case, but finds that Naylor’s death is part of a tangled web of conspiracies, cartels, and – worse still – Communists. As international runners Roger Bannister, John Landy and Wes Santee edge closer to the four-minute barrier, P.I. Stone faces his own race against time to track down Naylor’s killer before they too are killed. When the stakes are this high, what is the price of victory?

Keep an eye on our blog or follow us on twitter for details of a signing. Meanwhile you can watch clips of Paul in action as an ambassador for comic illustration in schools (see here), have a look at his blog (see here) and/or the Robot City website (see here).
