Weekly Treats! Guardians, Batman, Moebius & Dark Crystal

So the shop survived another half-term but while we straighten the shelves, pick up the books and clean up the suspicious stains, here's a quick run-through of some notable titles out this week:

Setting the stage for the official launch Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1 is by Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven telling the back story of Star-Lord (so origin-haters get to skip the intro and hope that there wasn't anything important to the later story). Plus Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie's painfully hip Young Avengers #2. As for DC, I'm sure you'll want to be here for Batman Incorporated #8 - particularly if you've read the spoiler that leaked yesterday, but suffice to say Grant Morrison moves into the final chapter of his run.

For those after a thicker spine to your purchase, Jodorowsky and Moebius's Madwoman of the Sacred Heart (Sloth Comics) gets an extremely welcome re-print - less sci-fi and more surreal romp through religious extremism. Scott Snyder's springboard to Batman success, Batman The Black Mirror (DC) is now in paperback, including art by Jock and there's also Catwoman vol. 2: Dollhouse (DC). Finally, the rather lush The Dark Crystal: Creation Myths vol 2 (Archaia) with art from Alex Sheikman and Lizzy John.

That, of course, is just the tip of the golden mountain; the full list of releases can be found under the tab at the top of the page...
